Gum Produced With Genetic Engineering

I bought a fill of Extra gum that sassist the very same point so I did a small study I'm pretty sure that the "Genetically Engineered" label is due at leastern partially to the soy lecithin.

You watching: Gum produced with genetic engineering

I found this article that discusses the legal condition and also complications of genetically modified foods items and also food additives favor soy lecithin.

https://www.researchgate.net/profile/John_Davison2/publication/228628711_EU_Regulations_on_the_Traceability_and_Detection_of_GMOs_Difficulties_in_Interpretation_Implementation_and_Compliance/links/09e4150a5f2232dc75000000.pdf?origin=publication_detail

On web page 5 under the "Tracecapacity of GMOs" it talks around certain resources of lecithin being from modified soy or rapeseed sources.

I know that modified soy is typically much cheaper than unmodified so I imagine that large American gum carriers would certainly be making use of the modified array.

I thought gum was simply a type of rubber. What's the genetic engineering?

Gum comes from plants tho. Maybe the plants were genetically engineered to develop more gum ? Or perhaps the corn or the sweetener sources

looking at the ingredients list it might be the hydrogenated starch hydrolysate or the soy lecithin

Aww, cripes. I didn't know I'd need to compose a description. How many words is that so far, like a hundred? Soooo, yeah. Mildly interesting stuff. Stuff that interests you. Mildly. It's in the name, ffs.
